The School of Medicine offers a five-year Dentistry program, taught in English.

The Dentistry program at EUC offers a modern curriculum based on the highest European and North American dental education standards. Students undertake classes in state-of the-art facilities including the anatomy dissection room and clinical and technical skills labs with patient simulators and a range of dental equipment.

A diverse student body and faculty ensures a collaborative learning environment and a global perspective in the field of dental health. The Department of Dentistry is a member of the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) On-campus dental clinicClinical training at our privately owned dental clinic will give students the opportunity for providing various dental treatments to patients.

Professional Recognition Graduates automatically qualify to work as general practitioners anywhere within the 32 European Union and European Free Trade Association member states. Membership to the Association of Dental Education in Europe ensures compliance with any updates of the profile and the competences for the graduating European dentist.

Careers in Dentistry Graduates can work in their private clinics or private & public hospitals and community clinics.

Established in 1961, European University Cyprus (EUC) is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Cyprus, joining the Laureate network in 2005. EUC has earned a reputation for excellence in teaching, innovation and research. First established as Cyprus College, EUC was granted university status in 2007. It is the first university in Cyprus and Greece to be awarded the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) Label by the European Commission and is one of only 40 institutions in Europe to have earned this distinction. The institution has a student enrolment of 5,300 and provides undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees. European University Cyprus is imbued with a strong commitment to community service and environmental sustainability, as it continuously strives to be “Here for Good”.

European University Cyprus developed out of Cyprus College, which was founded in 1961 by Ioannis Gregoriou. The purpose was to provide a well-rounded education of high caliber, so that students would acquire the necessary academic and practical knowledge in their fields of study. A major development in the College’s history took place in 2000, when programs of study leading to Diploma, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees were accredited by the Accreditation Council (SEKAP) of the Republic of Cyprus.

On 24 February 2006 an application was filed for the establishment and operation of a private University according to the “Private Universities (Establishment, Operation and Control) Law 109(1) of 2005". The application evaluation process by the Evaluation Committee of Private Universities of the Republic of Cyprus, which was laborious and involved on-site visits of several evaluation teams, led to the acceptance of the application in September 2007.On 12 September 2007, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus rendered a decision for the establishment and operation of European University Cyprus, and licensed it to start its operation as of 1 October 2007, with four Schools, namely, the School of Humanities, Social & Education Sciences, the School of Business Administration and Social Sciences, and the School of Sciences. All undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by European University Cyprus are recognized nationally and internationally.

ECTS Label:

European University Cyprus was the first university in Cyprus and Greece to be awarded the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System Label by the European Commission.

Recognized by the Hellenic Naric (DOATAP)European University Cyprus has been officially recognized by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre of Greece (DOATAP), as equivalent and corresponding to the Greek Universities.

School of Medicine:

The School of Medicine has been awarded first prize for Best Medical Installations and first prize for Best Medical Solutions in Crestron International Awards Competition.

Science Shop:

European University Cyprus comes closer to the society by creating the first Science Shop in Cyprus, with the support from the PERARES (Public Engagement with Research and Research Engagement with Society) FP7 project, with the goal of providing Research Services for free to Civil Society Organizations, by utilizing the resources of the university.

Microsoft Innovation Center:

Microsoft has selected European University Cyprus to be its partner institution for the establishment of the only Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) in Cyprus, one of the 110 Microsoft Innovation Centers worldwide. The operation of the MIC at European University Cyprus will greatly benefit students, faculty, IT professionals, researchers, the economy and society at large. The Microsoft Innovation Centers are state-of-the-art tech hubs designed to promote collaboration on innovative research, technology or software solutions, involving a combination of governmental, academic and industrial participants. As knowledge and innovation become the primary catalysts for economic growth, the Microsoft Innovation Centers can play a vital role in fostering innovation and developing software for sustainable local economies by generating powerful new ideas through training, education and knowledge transfer. Microsoft and strategic partners in each community work together to operate the MICs, which are centers open to students, professional software developers, IT professionals, entrepreneurs, start-ups and academic researchers.

EFFE Label:

The International Motion Festival Cyprus organised by European University Cyprus received the EFFE Label 2015-2016. Following an exhaustive assessment process conducted by the relevant national authority of each country and then by the International Festival Jury, 761 festivals from 31 countries now belong in the first generation of festivals honored with the EFFE Label 2015-2016.Investors in People (IIP).The first university in Cyprus accredited & certified by the International Framework INVESTORS IN PEOPLE.

EFQM Committed to Excellence:

Received Excellence distinction from the globally recognized model Excellence EFQM (European Foundation of Quality Management).

Descartes Prize for Excellence in Research in Europe:

European University Cyprus was granted, after competition, to produce in Cyprus the European Social Survey (the ESS), a world-renowned project that covers a wide range of social, political and cultural issues. The ESS research project was awarded Europe’s top annual science award, the Descartes Prize.

Partner of the World Economic Forum (Davos) in study on competitiveness:

European University Cyprus is the Official partner of the World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland researching the issue of competitiveness in Cyprus.

Approval of the Nursing Degree by the European Commission:

The Nursing Degree at European University Cyprus is recognized by the European Commission as an approved program, covered by Directive 2005/36/EC on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications between Member States. Graduate Nurses with the B.Sc. degree in Nursing from European University Cyprus, are therefore able to exercise their profession in all European Union member states

UI GreenMetric World Ranking:

European University Cyprus has been ranked among the top 100 universities in the world in terms of the “Energy and Climate Change” indicator ran by UI GreenMetric World Ranking Universities 2016. This is the seventh edition of the worldwide comparison of universities’ efforts towards campus sustainability and environment friendly university management. Specifically, European University Cyprus was ranked 71st in the world on the Energy and Climate Change indicator, the first time a university from the Republic of Cyprus has recorded such a significant environmental performance.

HR Excellence in Research Logo:

The European Commission has awarded European University Cyprus one of the most prestigious international awards, recognizing its contribution to research excellence. The “HR Excellence in Research Logo”, was awarded following a thorough analysis of European University Cyprus HR policies that provide and support a stimulating and favourable working environment for researchers and places the university among the leading 392 global academic institutions.

Magna Charta Universitatum:

European University Cyprus has been approved by the Magna Charta Observatory Council to become a signatory university to the Magna Charta Universitatum which constitutes a remarkable distinction as the charter codifies the principles of academic freedom and institutional autonomy setting the guideline for good governance of universities.
